Monday, August 2 - Board Ship in Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Often called the gateway to Europe, the port city of Rotterdam is full of old-world charm. The harbor offers amazing views, and a maze of wharves and canals along with towering spires make for a beautiful sight. Take a stroll and duck into one of the pubs or eateries along the way. Only three pre World War II buildings in the city center have survived and are worth a look - city hall, St. Laurence church, and the White House. Explore the Museum Boymans van Beuningen, which houses a unique collection dating from the 14th century, or the Museum Voor Volkenkunde - home to ethnological exhibits. Exquisite architecture can be seen in many areas of Rotterdam, most notably in the Delfshaven quarter of the city - where 18th century houses are on display. For a laugh, check out Kijk-Kubus, an upside-down house. Sample shore excursions: Gouda Highlights; Panoramic Rotterdam and Harbor Cruise; The Hague Highlights and Delft Delights; and Windmills of Kinderdijk..jpg)

Wednesday, August 4 - St. Peter Port, United Kingdom
Her deep, safe anchorage and relative remoteness from France made St. Peter Port the Channel Islands’ premier port, graced by the wealth of ship builders, privateers, and merchant adventurers. Georgian and Regency styles were enriched by an influx of French emigrés, including Victor Hugo who made his home at Hauteville House to write Les Miserables. Renoir also painted a number of his masterpieces here. Today the town is a captivating blend of styles, framed by a tumble of terraces and tiered gardens and criss-crossed by worn steps and hidden alleys. Built into a steep valley leading down to the harbour, the town offers spectacular views across to Alderney and the other islands and is amongst the 50 most historic towns in England and Wales. Here bistros, restaurants, and boutiques jostle for your attention, while in the harbor ferries are readied to take you to the sister islands. Sample shore excursions: Guernsey Island Drive and Special Reception at Spectacular Castle Cornet.

Saturday, August 7 - Holyhead, United Kingdom
Holyhead is rarely billed as a specific holiday destination; however, it does enjoy a high profile on account of its status as a ferry port and as part of the Isle of Anglesey, which is a well established and popular holiday spot. Breakwater Country Park is a 106-acre former quarry situated on the coast at Holyhead. The breakwater is one of the longest in the world and the wildlife is varied, but most notable are seals and numerous species of birds including stonechat, peregrine falcon, oystercatchers, and cormorants. The breathtaking cliff top site of South Stack Cliffs boasts trails, a visitor centre, and closed circuit TV to view nesting birds. From Ellin’s Tower visitor centre you can watch puffins, fulmars, guillemots, and razorbills busy with their broods. You can also visit the Ty Mawr hut group, an Iron Age settlement near South Stack with substantial remains of 20 original circular huts.
