JAMAICA...a Great Destination
Just 600 miles south of Miami, yet another world, far from the madding crowd. Jamaica is sure to capture your imagination with its colorful land, houses, and people. You will experience another culture, new foods, marvelous sights, and create memories you could never make at home. The language is English so getting around is "no problem", a phrase you will hear frequently in Jamaica. It means just that...there's no problem...just, relax..chill out..slow down and everything will happen in good time. Jamaica offers beautiful aquamarine waters, excellent swimming, snorkeling, and scuba, as well as a multitude of adventures. If you're the person who enjoys experiencing another culture, a foreign land, unique opportunities and simple pleasures, this trip is for you.

CASA MARIA HOTEL
"The Great Escape to the REAL JAMAICA"

Escape from the ordinary high rise hotel with the jangling phone and blaring TV in your room. Get close to nature and enjoy the refreshing caress of the Caribbean breeze as the sounds of the surf lull you to sleep. Escape from fast food and bland fare and enjoy locally prepared Jamaican cuisine. Retreat from the hustle of the "Tourist Center" and meet the ordinary Jamaican. Get a feel for life in Jamaica and its rich culture and history. Instead of meeting in a large impersonal hotel, we will completely take over a small rustic inn reflecting the simple charms of a Jamaica of long ago. Snorkel in the clear waters along one of the best reefs in Jamaica. There are many scenic sights within walking distance of the hotel and opportunities to meet the locals abound. Experience the history of the area: Ian Fleming wrote his 007 books here; Sean Connery enjoyed drinking and dining at Casa Maria, as did Katherine Hepburn, Erroll Flyn, Jane Russell, Noel Coward, Gregory Peck, Vivian Leigh, and many other stars of the 50's. Of course, the tourist center of Ocho Rios is only a 30 minute taxi ride if you want to go to town.

WHAT THIS PROGRAM ISN'T: This is a rustic hotel - not a 4 star resort. This trip is designed to let you get to know Jamaica and enjoy a unique small group atmosphere. You will experience new and unusual foods, fresh sea air instead of stale A/C, and meet the genuine Jamaicans. If you're not prepared to experience new things in your life...then RAP In Jamaica is not for you!

TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is designed for Physicians, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, and other medical care providers who need to obtain or update resuscitation skills and documentation.

PROGRAM PURPOSE:
Due to the inherent knowledge, skills, practice locations, and populations of patients served by practitioners of anesthesiology and/or emergency and critical care medicine, the physicians, nurses, and other such advanced care providers are summoned to serve the dying patient, particularly those whose death is sudden and unexpected. This program is designed to update these practitioners with the latest consensus on this body of scientific information in the form of formal guidelines provided by national agencies, recognized to possess the resources to develop guidelines and identify mandatory skills, which are required to provide quality resuscitative care for patients of all ages in all clinical and non-clinical locations.

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
Explain the latest guidelines for resuscitation, including but not limited to basic scientific studies, pharmacology, dysrhythmia identification, pertinent equipment, and recommended therapeutic intervention, featuring those most recently added or altered, through the citation of the specific scientific background for each and the description of how this newer information impacts the performance of resuscitative procedures.

Successfully meet the current requirements of the American Heart Association and, as appropriate, other pertinent agencies jointly sponsoring guidelines with this association, in documenting proficiency in providing resuscitative care

Apply this information in the clinical setting most commonly encountered in the day-to-day clinical practice of the participant.
